Work Experience

At Pioneer House we are delighted to share with you our external work experience offer!

This year we have secured some fabulous new work opportunities for our young people, all of which offer a safe, supportive environment for our students to learn and practice the essential skills needed for later life in the world of work. Our offer includes: Bread and Butter Warehouse, Bread and Butter Hubs, The Mess Café, Wythenshawe Farm, The light Charity Shop, The Boutique Charity shop, Wythenshawe Good Neighbours and the Barlow Moor Centre.

Whilst travelling to all our off-site placements, our students are learning new skills for independence by using different public transport links, gaining cash handling skills and the ability use bus passes whilst on their travels.  Furthermore, some students are now working on gaining confidence to travel to their homes straight from their placement!

Our students have made fantastic progress and have gained new skills, confidence and in some cases, job independence.
